7-5-21 THOUGHTS
The “GIST” of our position in Christ is presented below. Our being holy is right up front. We are to conduct ourselves in FEAR! We make reference to OUR ALMIGHTY GOD! If we understand what we say, FEAR is AUTOMATIC. Our future belongs to Him and our reverence for such power is right! Thus the “Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom.” As our knowledge of God grows and matures, we come to see God’s love and grace and mercy, [Ps 111:10, Prov 1:7] and we see that “PERFECT LOVES CASTS OUT FEAR.” [1John 4:18] I must be careful here. I always feared my daddy, but I knew his love for me so powerfully, that I was always comfortable in his presence. I knew he always wanted the best for me! Listen carefully, the one who still has ALL POWER TO DESTROY, is the same one who SENT HIS ONLY SON TO DIE AND SAVE!
1Pet 1:15-25 but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; 16 because it is written, "YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY." 17 If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay on earth; 18 knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, 19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. 20 For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you 21 who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. 22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, 23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For, "ALL FLESH IS LIKE GRASS, AND ALL ITS GLORY LIKE THE FLOWER OF GRASS. THE GRASS WITHERS, AND THE FLOWER FALLS OFF, 25 BUT THE WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER." And this is the word which was preached to you.
Ps 34:6-11 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him And saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, And rescues them. 8 O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! 9 O fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want. 10 The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; But they who seek the LORD shall not be in want of any good thing. 11 Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
My Prayer:
Almighty God, humble us that we might lift you up. Teach us to fear you in a righteous way, that we might wait on you and serve you in love and rejoicing. Thank you for your words that bring us marvelous comfort and assurance. We long for heaven with you O God.
